What’s Right In the World

January 14, 2010

Tonight I witnessed a remarkable event- a moment of tenderness, kindness and Christ-like love.   It was my assignment this night to keep score for Young Women’s basketball in our Stake.   The first game started out as usual.  The girls were having a good time and giggling and laughing.

Great Bags of Fire

So last night after watching “24,” my sweet hubby, Mr. Perfect, got up to stoke the fire.  When he opened the doors, some ashes fell out and what looked to me like quite a few embers.   He usually takes the little broom and shovel and sweeps them up and throws them  back in the fire.  Then he will take the vacuum and suck up all the little things he missed.

As I jumped up to run for a potty break, Mr. Perfect was bringing the vacuum around by the fire.   I swear it had only been less than a minute,  I was rounding the corner and my house smelled like something was burning and it was full of smoke.  Also, there was this draft of cold air billowing in.  I looked to my left to see my front door opened, the vacuum on outside the door with Mr. Perfect kneeling there.

At this point, I did what any good wife would do.  First, I said, “please don’t tell me you sucked up the embers and started the vacuum bag on fire!”  To which he pointed to the vacuum bag laying on the sidewalk in the rain and mumbled something about him saving us all and it really didn’t burst into flames.

A Gift of Gratitude for You

This post started out in my mind several weeks ago.  My son, Jadon, has an amazing voice and has been singing all over the place.    The more I heard him sing the song, “Thankful,” the more I could not get my mind off it.  “There’s so much to be thankful for.”  It’s true.  I began pondering and thinking. Misty Mornings

Yesterday driving home from the store, I looked down the road into the little beautiful valley I live in.  It was an overcast day–a wintery, gray/white sky kind of day.  I LOVE these days.  That break from the constant sunshine days, but more importantly, that warm nostalgic feeling kind of day.   Read the rest of this entry »

Eyes, Ears, Heart– What do these scriptures reference have to do with me?

I have spent the last year in a quest to document the Universal Laws and principles through scripture.  I have had some very enlightening moments, but none so great as this one. Read the rest of this entry »

The Greatness in You…is it Invisible?

I’ve seen this video a few times now and each time I do, something in my heart stirs.  I wanted to share it to remind you that becoming who we are to become sometimes doesn’t happen in the way we think it should.  Really, it is by the small and simple things in life that we do each day.  It is to realize who we are truly serving.  Man or woman, this video really is about “becoming.”

The Invisible Woman

What is the REAL secret learned at the Bookpublishing Workshop?

I was privileged to attend Michael Drew’s Book Publishing workshop this last weekend.  The path getting there was a whole story in itself, but because of a good husband who told me I needed to do this, I ended up in SLC on a snowy weekend to hear the best in the field.

I learned a lot about building a platform, blogging, personas, trends, writing styles.  It was a great wealth of information!

What surprised me was the education I gained from the people there.  I was in awe at the stories that were trying to come out at this class, and amazed at the people there. Read the rest of this entry »

Solutions to problems pt 3– HOW

planeSometimes we get caught up in the worry about HOW we are going to accomplish our goals and dreams instead of turning it over to God and letting Him guide us in the HOW.

In April 2008, my husband was planning to attend a seminar in California. Money was very tight and I wasn’t sure HOW we could do it. But I knew it was important in reaching our goals and dreams, so I just figured things would all work out. Read the rest of this entry »

Solutions to Problems pt 2– Grad Night

This is my actual journal entry about Grad night:

I had such amazing things happen when working on Grad night.  As I implemented the “laws”, I could not believe all the good that came.

First of all, I was able to work with Nelson at Pillars Etc.  When I went in to have him look at some stuff I needed to get, I saw all these columns and pillars.  I said to him, “why don’t you just let me borrow these and bring them back?”  He said, “Why don’t you paint them and I’ll sell them on ebay.”  So we worked out a good deal.  I got to paint and use these thousands of dollars of columns free of charge and he got them painted and was able to sell them and get them out of his workspace.  It was just the beginning of great things. Solutions to your Problems

radio2Imagine yourself standing in a room with a radio.  Every kind of music surrounds you in the room, you simply have to turn the dial of your radio to find the station or type of music you are looking for.  They all exist in the room, but there is one in particular that you want at this time.  You tune in your dial until the station/music you are looking for comes in crystal clear.
